Armed robbers target money changers in Bulawayo’s Nkulumane Complex

In a brazen incident on Thursday afternoon, two suspected armed robbers targeted three illegal money changers operating at Bulawayo’s Nkulumane Complex. The assailants managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects swiftly approached the female money changers and, posing as genuine law enforcement agents, threatened them with firearms. The robbers were dressed in police uniforms and wore face masks to conceal their identities. This deceptive tactic allowed them to gain control over the situation without arousing suspicion.

After the robbery, the perpetrators swiftly fled the scene, making their getaway in a waiting car. The exact details of the vehicle and its description remain unknown at this time.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, stated that he had not yet received an official report regarding the incident. However, he assured that he would promptly liaise with the police in Bulawayo to gather more information and provide updates.

“I am making a follow-up with police in Bulawayo for more details,” he said.

Unfortunately, this incident marks the third robbery attack to occur in Bulawayo this week. Despite these alarming occurrences, no arrests have been made thus far.
