HARARE – Zimbabwean police are currently investigating a series of unrelated murder cases that occurred on November 5, 2025, across different regions of the country. The incidents involve a fatal shooting in Mkwasine, a gruesome axe murder and suicide in Buhera, a strangulation in Norton, and the discovery of an unidentified body in Mutorashanga.
In Mkwasine, Chiredzi, police are appealing for information regarding the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man. National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, stating, “Police in Mkwasine are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder in which Webster Dzingo, aged 23, was shot dead with an unknown firearm by an unknown suspect at UB 93, Admin on November 5, 2025.” The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and report it to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, in Nyanyadzi, Buhera, police are investigating a tragic case of murder and suicide. Luckson Muchadeyi, 42, is alleged to have killed his wife, Prisca Mabuyazve, 33, at Gadzai Village, Birchenough Bridge. According to police reports, Muchadeyi struck his wife on the head and neck with an axe after accusing her of infidelity. Following the murder, Muchadeyi reportedly committed suicide by ingesting rat poison.
In Norton, police have apprehended Lionel Simbarashe in connection with the murder of his wife, Angela Malison. The incident occurred near a bar at Kingsdale Shopping Centre on November 5, 2025. Police allege that Simbarashe strangled Malison with a jacket following a misunderstanding. The victim’s body was discovered near a railway line with the jacket wrapped around her neck.
Adding to the grim series of events, police in Mutorashanga are investigating the discovery of an unidentified man’s body. The deceased was found on November 5, 2025, beside a dust road linking the Mutorashanga residential area and ZIMASCO mining shafts. The man’s head was reportedly deformed, and authorities are working to determine his identity and the cause of death.
Commissioner Nyathi urged members of the public with any information related to these cases to assist the police in their investigations. The separate incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining peace and order across the country.
