Few clubs entered the 2026 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League season as the clear favorites as FC Scottland. With Khama Billiat, Walter Musona, and Knowledge Musona spearheading Zimbabwe’s most talented XI, it became apparent early that the Highlanders club was not just here to defend; they were looking to conquer all on the field of play.
In many ways, Scottland’s dominance of Zimbabwean football has been surprisingly quick. Established just last year, the Harare-based outfit claimed promotion to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League at the first time of asking after winning the Northern Region Soccer League in 2024.
In their debut season among Zimbabwe’s top clubs, Scottland won just about everything there was to win on domestic soil: breaking the hearts of Dynamos fans by winning the league title before lifting the Castle Challenge Cup at the expense of their city rivals. Any fears that Scottland may have been a one-hit wonder were emphatically silenced upon Knowledge Musona’s arrival last year.
The Zimbabwe international joined FC Scottland during the 2025 season
Moving back to his homeland after several successful stints in South Africa, Germany, Belgium, and Saudi Arabia, Musona has seamlessly settled into domestic football following his move from Kuwaiti club Al-Okhdood. The 35-year-old currently leads the line for Scottland with fellow Country Captain Walter Musona playing just behind.
Speaking to the media ahead of the new campaign, Musona said: “So far, so good. I have scored four goals in my last three games, which is a bonus, but most importantly, we are winning as a team.” Having first broken onto the Zimbabwean scene as a teenager, Musona has been with the national team setup for over a decade. In that time, he has represented the Warriors on 57 occasions, finding the back of the net 26 times.
That places Musona among the most prolific attackers to pull on the Zimbabwe jersey in recent memory. His club career is similarly impressive. According to Zimbabwe football insiders, Bettingtop10 Zimbabwe has scored over 100 senior goals across leagues such as the South African Premier Soccer League, the Belgian First Division A, and the Saudi First Division.
The Zimbabwean Connection
For Scottland, the trio of Musona, Walter Musona and Billiat form the spine of the team. However, they are far from the only Zimbabwe internationals at the club. Faces from the Scottland XI that fans will recognize from the Warriors jersey include Godknows Murwira and Donald Man bedu, as well as several other stars from across Zimbabwe’s top flight.
Adding former Dynamos boss Norman Mapeza to the coaching setup will also give Scottland the infrastructure and know-how to challenge on multiple fronts and repeat as champions in what promises to be another thrilling season of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.
