A throwback video of socialite Mai TT entertaining inmates at Chikurubi Female Prison in 2020 has resurfaced online, coming back to haunt her just days after she was sentenced to 9 months behind bars.

The video shows Mai TT dancing, singing and cracking jokes for the female prisoners, who thoroughly enjoyed her performance during Dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu’s visit as part of his social responsibility program.

At the time, Mai TT – known for her outspoken personality – encouraged the inmates to stay positive and shared stories of her own troubles with an abusive ex-husband.

But now the video has gained new attention after Mai TT – real name Felistas Murata – was convicted last week of theft and handed a one-year prison sentence, with 9 months to be served.

The bubbly socialite who gained fame for her humorous videos is set for a rude awakening as an inmate herself at the crowded Chikurubi Female Prison instead of just entertaining prisoners.

Mai TT’s jokes may fall flat and her candid personality may land her in hot water as she becomes just another prisoner.

The throwback video has come back to bite her, taunting Mai TT with the irony that she’s now where those inmates she once entertained are.

From entertainer to prisoner – Mai TT’s visit from the past has unexpectedly come back to haunt her after her conviction. The jokes are now on her.
