Horror as man rɑpǝs and kills aunt in bush after chasing her b0yfriend away

GOPOLANG Moilwa (25) was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the rɑpǝ and murder of his aunt (45) Keshwalegile Jane Molehe.

According to Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani, the crime was committed on Sunday, 10 October 2021. At the time of the incident, Gopolang was drinking alcohol with his aunt and the latter’s b0yfriend at a local shebeen at Kgothu section in Setlagole.

“On the way home, an argument ensued between Gopolang and his aunt’s b0yfriend. This was after Gopolang had tried to rɑpǝ his aunt. The latter’s b0yfriend ran away after Gopolang threatened to stab him with a knife. Molehe was then rɑpǝd and strangled. Her body was found in the bushes the next day after being discovered by passersby who alerted the police,” Funani said.

Following the investigation, Gopolang was arrested and charged with rɑpǝ and murder. He has been behind bars since his arrest on Monday, 11 October 2021.

Gopolang was found guilty and sentenced as follows:

  • Counts of rɑpǝ: 10 years jail term
  • Count of murder: 15 years jail term

He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of section 103 of the Firearms Control Act, 2000 (Act No. 60 of 2000).
