Speaking in Binga yesterday, the President revealed he will proclaim the election date on Monday, urging residents to turn out in large numbers and defend the gains of independence. “When elections are conducted every person in Binga should safeguard our heritage by voting,” he said.

The ruling Zanu-PF party has been ramping up efforts to win the upcoming vote, recruiting new members, and pushing its campaign message. The party is confident it can achieve a resounding victory due to the many programs and projects targeting citizens’ needs.

President Mnangagwa has indicated foreign observers will be invited, stating everything is in place to ensure a free and fair election. He has called on all Zimbabweans to commit to peace during the vote.
