Two gas company directors in Ruwa, Zimbabwe were robbed of $33,200 in U.S. currency and their pistol by five armed robbers on Wednesday.
The robbery occurred along an unnamed dirt road in Damofalls Industrial area. The gas company employees were traveling in a Toyota Wish when the robbers intercepted them in a Honda Fit car.
The five robbers disarmed the men of their Tokarev pistol before stealing the $33,214 cash, which was the day’s sales revenue. The robbers also took a cell phone from the victims.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the robbery and said police are investigating. Anyone with information on the robbery has been asked to contact the nearest police station.
