A man from Bulawayo was left totally devastated after he allegedly caught his wife red-handed being cɑressed by another man.

Nyasha Chirwa (46) is reported to have tracked his wife Nobuhle Nkomo to a special location where she was with her alleged l0ver Andrison Dube.

On getting there, he realised that his wife was getting c0sy with Dube. bottlIt caused him to create a scene when he allegedly hit Dube with an empty beer bottle on his lips.

Circumstances are that on 10 February and at a service station situated at corner 12th Avenue and Fife Street, Chirwa saw his wife with Dube and this didn’t go down well with him.

He then approached the two alleged l0vebirds and a misunderstanding arose between him and Dube.

At the height of the fracas Chirwa then hit Dube with an empty beer bottle on his lower lips and the latter fled.

Chirwa then turned to his wife and assaulted her with a fist on the left ear.
The matter was reported to the police and investigations led to the arrest of Chirwa and his subsequent appearance in count.

Chirwa appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Joseph Mabeza facing two charges of attempted murder and physical abuse.

He pleaded guilty to one count of physical abuse and was remanded out of custody to 20 June.

Through his lawyer Goodluck Katanaire, Chirwa denied attempted murder charges levelled against him saying when he committed the offence he was provoked after he caught his wife with another man.

“Sometime in December 2022, the accused came across l0ve messages on his wife’s phone from Dube and he tried to engage him by calling and advising him to stay away from his wife.

“On 20 February 2023, he saw his wife being cɑressed by Dube. This angered him and he then went to meet up with the two leading him to assault Dube with an empty beer bottle.

“He lost it and used an empty beer bottle that he was holding to strike the complainant on the mouth and after the bottle had broken, he remained holding the other piece and even after the victim ran away he did not attempt to pursue him.

“He then confronted his wife and he did not use the broken empty beer bottle but rather used his left hand to assault her,” argued Katanaire.
