A woman named Tshuma from Dopotshi Village in Ward 4 of Filabusi, Matabeleland South province has reported that her husband, Vusumuzi Nkomo, has been physically, emotionally, and economically abusing her.
Tshuma said that the problems in their mɑrriɑgǝ began when Nkomo borrowed US$50 from her and gave it to his girlfriǝnd. Whenever Tshuma asked for her money back, Nkomo would beat her.
Tshuma reported Nkomo to his parents, but they did not take any action to reform him. Tshuma’s life and those of her children were put in danger when Nkomo left a live snake in their house. She had to engage neighbours to kill it.
Tshuma was granted an interim order by the presiding Magistrate Abednico Diliza Ndebele, which stated that Nkomo was not allowed to emotionally, economically, and physically abuse Tshuma.
