Zanu PF’s ‘interim Secretary General’ Tafadzwa Manyika, has stirred up chaos by recalling 70 members of parliament, including cabinet ministers, elected legislators, and proportional representatives. The list, dated October 12, 2023, has caused a flurry of activity and uncertainty among the political circles.

Efforts by The Mirror to obtain a comment from Clerk of Parliament, Kennedy Chokuda, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls at the time of press.

Mike Bimha, Zanu PF’s national secretary for commissariat, expressed his lack of awareness regarding the recalls, stating, “I am not aware of the recalls.”

The notification letter declares that the affected individuals, who were elected under the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), have ceased to be members of the party. The letter carries an alleged stamp of parliament, dated October 16, 2023, similar to the one found on the recalls letter from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).

These alleged recalls by Tafadzwa Manyika come just a week after 15 legislators from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) were recalled by the party’s ‘interim secretary general’ Sengezo Tshabangu.
