Mberengwa – In a startling revelation that has ignited debate and disbelief, a 22-year-old woman from Mberengwa has claimed that she derives more pleasure from intimate encounters with goblins (zvikwambo) than with her own husband. The woman, whom we are identifying as Janet to protect her identity, alleges that these supernatural encounters began in her childhood and have continued to plague her marriage.
Janet, who married in 2020 and has two children, paints a disturbing picture of her life, claiming she was “deflowered by goblins in my dreams” at a young age. She believes she was made a “wife of the goblins in our home,” a situation she says has poisoned her feelings for her husband.
According to Janet, the satisfaction she derives from these alleged encounters with goblins leaves her feeling indifferent towards her husband.
“Being with my husband is just enduring hardship; I even feel like he is raping me because I enjoy being intimate with the goblins. I have two children with this husband, and in our house, we are five daughters; some were divorced from their husbands and returned home,” she said.
She further claims that these encounters leave her physically distressed, experiencing soreness, burning sensations in her private parts, and rashes.
“This issue hurts me, that other women are pleased with their husbands, which is different from me; I feel more pleasure from the goblins that sleep with me in my dreams even if I consult traditional healers. Now I am just following this endlessly,” Janet lamented.
Janet’s family life is further complicated by the absence of her father, who has passed away, leaving her mother to navigate this extraordinary situation. She claims that wherever she goes, she is told that she bears incisions (“nyora”) that are the root cause of her alleged intimacy with goblins.
Desperate for a solution, Janet pleads for help. “I don’t like these things; I have suffered from being made a wife of goblins, so I need help. The accusations that I didn’t do also never end, which is a real problem,” she said, highlighting the emotional and psychological toll this situation has taken on her.
Epworth Family Terrorised by Goblin Attacks
Meanwhile, in a separate and equally unsettling development, a family in the Overspill area of Epworth is living in fear, claiming they are under siege from goblins, locally known as zvikwambo. The family alleges that these malevolent entities are targeting young women and girls in the household, causing mysterious deaths and spreading terror among relatives.
Agnes Nota (54), a member of the family, recounted the tragic history of their misfortunes. “We were 12 but now we are seven. People die young, one after another. This trouble has affected husbands, grandchildren and has created a cycle of fear and witchcraft in the family,” she said, highlighting the devastating impact of the alleged goblin attacks.
The family, originally from Malawi, has suffered multiple losses over the years. The father, Fraction Nota, died in 2000, followed by the mother, Menalla Pangeti Nota, in 2019. Agnes revealed that of the original 12 children, only seven remain. Since 2019, six family members have died within a single year, raising suspicions of supernatural involvement.
“Our parents left us 52 grandchildren but we fear for their lives because of how these deaths are happening. Young girls are cursed, and boys are targeted by women. Whenever we seek help, we are told it is caused by family issues and goblins,” Agnes added, expressing her deep concern for the safety of future generations.
The family alleges that women and girls are being sexually abused by invisible forces, leading some to flee the household in fear. Employment is scarce, and relatives are sometimes expelled for unclear reasons, further exacerbating their plight.
Adding to their woes, the family discovered a strange multicoloured ribbon tied on their father’s grave in the past three weeks, a sign they believe is directly linked to the goblin attacks.
Friday Nota (55), a fourth-born son in the family, corroborated Agnes’s claims and appealed for urgent assistance. “When we buried our father, we discovered money and other items missing. No one in the family has control over finances. We are being haunted by the goblin, chased by women, and our daughters and sisters are cursed. People are dying in ways we cannot understand,” he said, painting a grim picture of their daily lives.
The family’s isolation is compounded by the fact that they have no remaining relatives locally, as their grandparents emigrated from Boma, Malawi. Friday said the older generation is now attempting to handle the situation themselves, but their efforts appear to be in vain.
Loveness Nota (41) shared her personal experience of the alleged curse, revealing that she has been married five times, with three of her husbands passing away and the other two leaving her for no apparent reason. “We are suffering under this curse. Three of the men I was married to died, the other two who dumped me. Men now fear to approach us. Many young girls are dying in households where goblins are active. We face strange illnesses, cannot find jobs, and women are sexually abused by invisible men. We urgently need help,” she pleaded.
She also revealed that some family members avoid travelling due to repeated road accidents, which they believe are linked to the goblin’s influence.
Seeking Solutions
These extraordinary claims have prompted a range of reactions, from scepticism to genuine concern. Pastor Hazvinei Muchefa from Harare acknowledged that many women face similar problems to Janet, and that even some men can be affected by goblins. He believes that such problems can be resolved through prayer.
The family in Epworth continues to live in fear, seeking assistance to break the mysterious and deadly curse that has haunted them for generations. Their plight highlights the deeply ingrained beliefs in the supernatural that persist in many communities, and the devastating impact these beliefs can have on individuals and families.
