Harare – In a stunning turn of events, Zimbabwean comedy icon Freddy Manjalima, widely known as Kapfupi, has confirmed the unbelievable: he consumed his own child’s excrement. The confession comes amidst a bitter and public fallout with his estranged wife, Mai Nga, and paints a disturbing picture of a marriage disintegrating under immense strain.
The revelation follows sensational claims made by Mai Nga during an interview on Ollah 7’s podcast, where she alleged Kapfupi’s bizarre act. According to Mai Nga, Kapfupi’s behaviour was fuelled by excessive alcohol consumption.
“He went and lifted the kids’ pot…he took the poo of the kid using his hand and ate it,” Mai Nga stated on the podcast. “I have the video in my phone. He said he wanted to show me that he was s**t.”
Mai Nga expressed her bewilderment at the act, stating that she could not comprehend how a normal person could do such a thing. She indicated that from that moment onward, their relationship was irrevocably damaged.
He explained his actions as a desperate attempt to manage his overwhelming anger and prevent himself from self-harm. “It was a better way of dealing with my anger than stabbing myself to death with a knife given the agony I was going through of witnessing my own wife cheating on me so openly,” Kapfupi confessed.
The comedian hinted that Mai Nga’s revelations were just the tip of the iceberg. “What she has so far dropped is just a drop,” he said. “I am now coming with an ocean of the whole truth, I am now going to open up and tell you every grain of the truth, with full names.”
Kapfupi indicated his intention to reveal more details, stating, “I wanted to do it today, but I can’t because today I am busy shooting my work here in Ruwa but tomorrow (today), be ready for the whole truth about it. The truth should also be welcomed by her new man.”
The couple’s marital problems have been unfolding publicly in recent weeks. Last week, Kapfupi revealed that Mai Nga had left their home, taking their four children – Loice, Stella, Freddie Jnr, and Bea – with her. This left Kapfupi feeling isolated and heartbroken.
Kapfupi also has two other children from a previous marriage to Margaret Gejo.
He further accused Mai Nga of deceiving him by disguising her lover’s contact information in her phone. According to Kapfupi, Mai Nga saved her lover’s name as “Yeukai” to make it appear as though she was communicating with a female friend.
“In her phone, she saved his name as Yeukai but his name is Tonderai,” Kapfupi explained. “She was even telling him bharanzi achikarara. It’s something that shocked me. She was a person I trusted, a person I thought we would be together even in old age.”
Kapfupi expressed his devastation at what he perceived as a betrayal. “She was confused by someone who gave her whatever confused her until she fled from me at 1am,” he lamented. “I have all the V11s.”
He further alleged that Mai Nga had told his aunt that she had suffered a miscarriage and that the pregnancy was not his, but her lover’s. “Manheru avakatiza vaitaura nemurume uyu vachiti bharanzi achiri akavata,” Kapfupi stated.
The unfolding saga has captivated Zimbabweans, with many expressing shock and disbelief at the details emerging from both Kapfupi and Mai Nga. The public airing of their marital problems has raised questions about the pressures faced by public figures and the challenges of maintaining relationships under intense scrutiny.
