Big blow for Zimbabwean midfielder Khama Billiat

Zimbabwean midfielder Khama Billiat has been left out of the Kaizer Chiefs squad that has travelled to Nelspruit to prepare for the upcoming season.

The 32-year-old’s contract with the Soweto giants has ended, and negotiations for a contract extension with a pay cut are reportedly still ongoing.

This could suggest that Billiat might be leaving the club after a disappointing four-year stint that saw him sidelined by injuries for much of the time.

In 117 appearances for the club, he scored 27 goals and assisted 24. It remains to be seen whether Billiat will stay or leave, but other teams are no doubt keeping a close eye on the situation at the Chiefs camp.
