A traditional healer from Cherima near Chinhoyi is being hailed a hero after he helped police catch five alleged murder suspects.
The suspects, looking for protection from the spirit of their victim, visited the herbalist on Monday. But instead of helping them, the healer informed police.
Cops quickly swooped in and arrested the accused. They were taken to the crime scene – the Methodist Church in Hunyani suburb – where the body of Munyaradzi Mahwine was found in a pool of blood, stabbed multiple times.
Mahwine’s Sunday murder has rocked the community, coming just days after the corpse of another woman from the area was discovered along a stream.
Locals bayed for the alleged killers’ blood as police paraded the grinning suspects at the murder scene yesterday.
The herbalist’s tip-off has solved the grisly double murder mystery, with the community hailing him as a hero for helping bring the alleged monsters to justice.
