In the early hours of June 28, 2023, a house in Mayambara, Seke was raided by seven armed robbers who attacked the three occupants and stole more than US$1,100 cash, as well as various electrical gadgets and property.
The incident occurred at around 2am, and no arrests have been made yet. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, and the national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident.
The police are appealing for anyone with information that could help with investigations to contact the nearest police station. Meanwhile, armed robbery cases have been increasing countrywide, with criminals targeting families and business premises during the night.
The police have been urging the public to avoid keeping large amounts of cash in their homes and business premises to avoid falling prey to criminals.
