In a disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a man identified as Thomas Muzenda from Gokwe, Zimbabwe, has been accused of brutally murdering his own 2-year-old daughter in a suspected ritual act.

The horrifying incident took place in January 2023 in Village 17 Mupukuta, under Chief Chireya in Gokwe North.

According to the Midlands Police Spokesperson, Emmanuel Mahoko, Muzenda, 38, had recently gone through a divorce, leaving him in custody of their two children, a 7-year-old boy and the 2-year-old girl. Tragically, Dhumba reportedly advised Muzenda that he needed to sacrifice one of his children for the ritual. Succumbing to this twisted advice, Muzenda is said to have taken the life of his innocent 2-year-old daughter, gruesomely removing her heart before callously disposing of her body in a disused mine.

The horrifying truth came to light when the maternal grandmother of the victim visited Muzenda’s home to inquire about her granddaughter’s well-being. However, she was met with evasive answers and an unsettling atmosphere. Concerned and suspicious, she promptly reported the situation to the police, leading to a swift investigation and subsequent arrest of Muzenda.
