The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched investigations into certain social media messages that have been disseminated by unruly individuals who are promoting illegal activities within the country.

In a recent statement, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, emphasized that the overall security situation in Zimbabwe remains peaceful. He urged the public to disregard any social media content that attempts to incite or encourage unlawful political actions or gatherings.

Assistant Commissioner Nyathi further asserted that the police are actively investigating the originators of these provocative social media posts. The law will be impartially enforced against anyone promoting or advocating for illegal activities in the country. He also encouraged members of the public to promptly report any criminal elements that may seek to disrupt the prevailing peaceful environment by visiting the nearest police station.
