HARARE – Zimbabwean social media personality, actress, and entrepreneur Madam Boss has addressed swirling rumours regarding her recent weight loss journey and alleged cosmetic surgery, emphatically denying claims that she had ribs removed to achieve her new figure.
In an interview with H-Metro, Madam Boss, known for her online content and growing business empire, provided a detailed account of the medical procedures she underwent, clarifying that her weight loss was initially inspired by a health condition.
The online sensation has faced accusations of trying to emulate the physique of international music superstar Beyonce, but she has vehemently dismissed these claims.
“I do not regret losing weight after that surgery and I like my new look,” she stated firmly.
Addressing the rib removal rumours head-on, Madam Boss declared: “Let it be known, I do not know how you are going to clarify this, handiraramire vanhu uye handina basa nekuti vanhu kana munhu anotikudii nezvangu. To put the record straight, none of my ribs were removed as some are saying.”
She further questioned the feasibility of such a procedure, adding: “Do you think it’s real for one to live without ribs, I am yet to know if one can live without any of the ribs.”
Madam Boss explained that her journey began due to unforeseen health challenges. “We have no control of some challenges, disabilities can happen and we are left with no choice other than consulting a surgeon,” she said. “I did not want to have fun with surgeons but I had to face it. To me, it started as a weight loss journey due to the condition I had.”
Following the initial weight loss, Madam Boss revealed that she opted for further procedures to address specific concerns. “After losing my weight ndakazowona kuti katumbu kangu kakanga kakungorembera,” she explained, leading her to consider liposuction.
She elaborated on the procedure, stating: “Liposuction is a type of surgery. It uses suction to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes these areas.”
Madam Boss also underwent a gastric balloon procedure, explaining: “From there I had to undergo a gastric balloon to remove fat. It is also known as an intragastric balloon and it is a temporary medical device used to assist with weight loss. It’s a soft, inflatable balloon placed in the stomach through an endoscope to help reduce the amount of food someone can eat and make them feel full sooner.”
She acknowledged the significant expense associated with such medical interventions, expressing sympathy for individuals who may face similar health conditions without the financial means to seek surgical solutions.
Madam Boss has risen to prominence through her engaging online content, expanding her influence both within Zimbabwe and internationally. She has also ventured into entrepreneurship, launching several businesses and receiving accolades for her impact on social media.
