Porisi and 9 others stab man to death as violence erupts at gold mine


In a shocking outbreak of violence at the Honnie Mine Mill in Patchway, a 49-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a confrontation between two rival groups of artisanal miners. The victim, James Chigumbe, was attacked and killed around 10:00 PM on June 15th, 2024.

Police have identified the suspected ringleader as an individual named “Porisi,” along with nine other individuals believed to be involved in the deadly assault.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could aid in the investigation and apprehension of the suspects to come forward and report to the nearest police station. The tragic loss of life has shaken the local community, and police are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly.
