Dear Auntie Lisa
I'm 25 years old and I am having a problem. I have a good friend and we have been best friends since High school days. When I went to live with her, her husband tried to have se_x with me one night. She used to do night shift at a Hotel in Harare, where she would leave at 2000hrs at night and not return home until 0800hrs the next morning.
One night when she left, I was asleep and I felt like someone was touching me. I jumped up and saw my friend's husband nak_ed. I tried to push him out of the room, but he wouldn't leave. He started to tell me how much he loved me and he always liked me, and was trying to force himself on to me. Finally, I pushed him off and told him to get out of my room. He left, and I locked my door.
When my friend came home, I wanted to tell her what happened, but she was so happy with him that I didn't want her to think that I didn't want her to be happy.
Since then, I've moved into my own flat and I don't speak to her husband. She asked me why and I told her that I just don't want to talk to him. She asked me if there was something that he did but I brushed it off by saying he talks too much.
She has been married to him now for a year now and they have a 10-month-old son. I don't want her to be unhappy but at the same time I want her to know what her husband tried to do to me and what he is capable of doing.
I want to know if I should I tell her or should I let sleeping dogs lie because nothing happened as far as him having se_x with me – it's just the touching that he did without my consent. Or should I notify the police. I don't want to lose her as friend. I'll wait for your advice.
Awaiting for your response.
