A 29-year-old woman from Mhlophe Flats in Bulawayo was left with a deep cut on her left arm after being stabbed with a pair of scissors by her 37-year-old brother, Dieford Ncube. The incident occurred on October 4 last year after Dieford accused his sister, Charity Ncube, of being a witch.
According to court documents, Dieford came home and started insulting Charity, accusing her of witchcraft. An argument broke out between the siblings which escalated into a physical fight. Dieford allegedly slapped Charity on the cheek before stabbing her on the arm with a pair of scissors, leaving her with a deep wound.
Charity was taken to hospital for treatment. The police were notified and arrested Dieford following their investigations. Dieford appeared in court where he was not asked to plead. His case was remanded to July 28.
