Bata Stadium in Gweru, the home ground of Sheasham FC, has been temporarily banned from hosting Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches. This is to allow ongoing construction work at the stadium to be completed. Only one match was played there this season before the ban.

The Premier Soccer League stated the ban is “in the interest of all football stakeholders.”

Sheasham FC has embarked on a major project to improve stadium facilities through the construction work currently underway. The PSL commended the club for the project.

While intended to enable the stadium improvements, the temporary ban on matches at Bata stadium means football fans in Gweru currently cannot watch Premier Soccer League games there. Once the construction is finished, matches will presumably resume at the renovated stadium.
