I wanted to see Moana’s remains with my naked eyes: Mourners wrestled with guards at mortuary


MOURNERS on Saturday where the late Michelle Moana Amuli’s body was being viewed.

A mortician had requested few relatives that included Yolanda Kuvaoga, Ishmael Amuli and their immediate families into the mortuary but some of the mourners rushed to the entrance in anxiety to view the remains of Moana who died on the spot with three others in a road traffic accident along Borrowdale Road.

One of the mourners said she wanted to view the remains following reports from people who visited the accident scene spreading different views about the remains.

“I heard that the body will not be viewed either at home or church so I was pushing to enter into the mortuary how the remains are,” said the mourner.

“Security officers denied me entry but some managed to enter,” added the mourner.

A police officer assisted security guards in making sure not all mourners got entry to the mortuary.

Moana’s body was taken to Highfield Islamic Mosque before the remains were interred at Warren Hills cemetery.
